Arqueonautas Worldwide S.A. (AWW) was founded in 1994, with the aim to recover cargoes from historical shipwrecks in an economically viable manner. Our team of marine archaeologists conducts operations following proven methodologies. The company was registered in Portugal in 1995 (ISIN: PTAQW0AE0005) and has become today’s leading commercial marine archaeological company for shallow-water operations. Since its foundation, AWW has discovered over 150 wreck sites in Africa and Asia. Fourteen historical shipwrecks have been excavated and approximately 100,000 coins and over 10,000 artefacts so far recovered. All excavations and recoveries are thoroughly documented and result in scientific publications. AWW currently holds exclusive survey and recovery licenses in Mozambique and Indonesia and is pursuing additional agreements in Asia and the Americas.
