Holsten-Brauerei AG was founded in 1879. In 2004, the year of its 125th. anniversary, it became a subsidiary of Carlsberg, the world’s fifth largest international brewery group. Holsten now has five breweries in Germany. Its main brands include Holsten Pilsener, Lübzer Pils, Feldschlösschen Pilsner and Duckstein. It also sells the international brands Carlsberg and Tuborg. Beer produced at its Hamburg brewery is exported to a large number of countries. The Holsten brewery in the Altona district of Hamburg has an annual production capacity of around 3.2 million hectolitres.
