SPDG Technologies Plc (SPDG Tech) is a UK-based Company committed to the global development of selected, cutting-edge technologies rooted in the rural economy and based on agriculture. The Company aims to develop technologies and products within a series of agri-based projects that will be sustainable, commercially viable and which will benefit the environment as well as the local economy.

Company strategy is based on three key factors. First, the very high levels of concern expressed by governments and international agencies at the potential for the further collapse of the rural economies worldwide, leading to greater mass migration of the rural populations. Second, the ever-increasing levels of environmental legislation requiring the introduction of renewable, recyclable and biodegradable materials into manufacturing processes in the automotive, construction and electronic industries. Third, the exorbitant cost of western synthetic drugs, which is driving a frantic search for natural remedies and medicines that can be produced where they grow at prices that developing countries can afford. These three factors combine to offer a unique opportunity for new, sophisticated technologies, based on agriculture, which can be implanted into the global rural economy to the benefit of populations and the environment.

Searching globally for potential investments in relevant environmental technologies, SPDG Tech seeks to implant those technologies into the culture, economy and technical infrastructure of rural communities in selected countries. This is far from being a philanthropic exercise as SPDG Tech only considers projects that are truly sustainable with long-term profitability based on renewable local resources and indigenous manufactured products. Unlike its competitors, SPDG Tech seeks to add value in the countries where the natural resources originate. Although this has an immense effect upon the local rural economies, again this is a hard-nosed commercial decision, reducing transport costs and ensuring absolute efficiency of agricultural and manufacturing processes.

The Company has experience and capability in such diverse areas as Project Management, Agronomy, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Marketing and Finance. SPDG Tech currently has projects underway in South Africa, Spain, East Africa, Australia, China and the UK, based on a portfolio of technologies that includes natural fibre composites, biodegradable plastics and the extraction of natural compounds from biomass. The Company continues to investigate new technologies to add to its portfolio and to establish better relations in new and existing partner countries to better promote the commercial development of indigenous rural resource.
