TechnoTrend N.V., based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, is a global provider of broadband access technologies. The Company, which was formed in 2004, develops receiver systems and platforms for digital television (DVB) at its sites in Erfurt, Augsburg, Leipzig and Lisbon. TechnoTrend N.V. resulted from a merger between TechnoTrend AG, a German firm active in this market since 1990, and Novabase IDTV, a subsidiary of the largest IT services company in Portugal. The sales and marketing of TechnoTrend’s solutions are performed by its offices in Geneva, Krefeld, Munich, Lisbon and São Paulo. The Company’s product range incorporates core receiver technologies and covers all target markets for products relating to television sets and PCs. An established technology leader, TechnoTrend developed the first TV card for PCs in 1996. In 1999, it presented the first compact, micro-format set-top boxes. Network operators, broadcasters and various OEM brands around the world have been using TechnoTrend’s platforms successfully in a wide range of projects for a number of years. Since 2006, the Company has offered a comprehensive range of digital television receivers for TVs and PCs under the TechnoTrend brand. These products are sold via retailers and consumer electronics stores in Germany. In October 2007, TechnoTrend entered into a strategic partnership with Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of Siemens AG, for the production of digital receivers under the Gigaset brand. This will allow TechnoTrend to expand its development expertise and sales activities and increase its relevance on the market.
