Experienced-International-Innovative

Experienced: For over 30 years, W.O.M. WORLD OF MEDICINE AG has been a pioneer in MIS® short for Minimally Invasive Surgery with its specialized medical devices. MIS® is based on innovative techniques which make surgical procedures less invasive and thereby more patient-friendly through the use of special devices.

International: The device manufacturer focuses on OEM business, and markets its products through major medical technology firms. WORLD OF MEDICINE is well-positioned internationally and exports more than 70 % of its products. More than 40 % of sales are transacted in the U.S., the world’s largest medical technology market.

Innovative: More than 40 FDA clearances, 50% global market share in the Flow&Fluid business division, and more than 50 patents, underscore its strong technology and product portfolio. All products and services have a common goal:
Patient-friendly procedures and quicker recovery periods
Simple and safe handling of devices
Shorter hospital stays
Less time expenditure and lower costs for physicians and hospitals

Thanks to the technically sophisticated insufflators and pump systems of our Flow&Fluid business division , the necessary room for the endoscopic procedure is achieved through the controlled distention of body cavities using fluids and gases.
Procedures can be viewed and medically documented via the 1-chip and 3-chip cameras, cold light sources, and documentation systems of the Vision&Images division. The patented FREDDY® laser enables the patient-friendly elimination of kidney, urinary, bladder and bile duct stones.
The Gamma Finder® is used during the surgical procedure Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy (SLNB) for the detection of possibly cancerous lymph nodes.

The WORLD OF MEDICINE Group has generated revenues of 45.75 million Euro (2011) and employs approximately 267 people at locations in Berlin, Ludwigsstadt, and Orlando/Florida, USA.
