——————————————————————————
Bad Homburg, 10. August 2000. Die ADS System AG (WKN 514780)
erzielte im ersten Halbjahr Umsatzerloese von 10,6 Mio. DM (+13,3 %
gegenueber HJ1/99: 9,3 Mio. DM).
-0,2 Mio. DM fuer das 2. Quartal 2000 und damit -1,8 Mio. DM fuer das erste
Halbjahr 2000. Im ADS-Gesamtkonzern (proforma) betraegt die
Mitarbeiterzahl derzeit ca. 270 Mitarbeiter in 4 Laendern (D, Ö, CH, NL).

Bad Homburg, Germany, August 10th, 2000. In its first six months, ADS
System AG (security code no. 514780) made sales of DM 10.6m (+13.3 %
compared with the DM 9.3m figure for the first six months of 1999). This
closes the turnover gap of -20% which existed at the end of the last quarter.
Directly comparing the two last quarters, sales increased by 170%.
Taking the recently acquired INDATA Systems AG, Hofmann and Boschung
AG and Netlink B.V. into consideration, proforma sales in the ADS System
Group even reached the DM 30m mark in the first six months. This is an
increase of 223% compared with last year and means that ADS System AG
has already well beaten its sales result for the whole of 1999 already and is
swiftly approaching its target of being a leading network service provider not
only in Germany, but in Europe as well.
Since the end of the 1st quarter, the workforce has been augmented by 40%
to 160 employees. This can be regarded as a great success in view of the
difficulties of obtaining qualified IT staff. In particular, 30 staff were
recruited in the 2nd quarter for the development of the Multiservice business
alone, although these new jobs are not expected to have a positive effect on
the financial result until the 3rd quarter. As announced some time ago, this
is likely to burden the result by about DM 1.4m in labour and supplementary
staff costs. Without this special effect, the EBIT would be DM -0.2m for the
2nd quarter of 2000 and thus DM -1.8m for the first half of 2000. The ADS Group
as a whole (proforma) currently employs a workforce of about 270 staff in 4
countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands).
“By adding qualified specialists to our Multiservice section we have created
one of the largest and most competent network service teams for voice-data
integration. This is an excellent start in a most promising technology. We
anticipate this young business to hit the breakeven point before the end of the
year already,” comments CEO Christoph Winderling. “The direct partnership
with Nortel Networks in particular gives this business sector added impetus.”
ADS System also makes specific use of this know-how in neighbouring
countries through its new subsidiaries. A major Multiservice order has already
been negotiated in the Netherlands. ADS System expects the acquisitions to
create further synergies in distribution, purchasing, knowledge transfer,
marketing and financial management.
We are therefore raising our sales target for the current business year in the
ADS System Group to DM 71m for the present. The EBIT will be affected by
the costs mentioned above and by the goodwill amortisation for this year. A
corresponding adjustment will not be made to the EBIT figures until the
synergies and integration of the new acquisitions have successfully taken
hold.
