CyBio AG:Bilanzverlust trotz operativen Spitzenergebnisses
CyBio AG: Net loss for the year despite top operating earnings
Board of directors proposes dividends
The good share price growth, of all things, is responsible for the fact
that the best earnings in the corporate history of CyBio AG, Jena
must be written in red for the past fiscal year of 2000.
The reason for reporting this loss is that the stock market supervisory
authority required the balance sheet to be prepared in accordance with
the US GAAP, which treats the effect of the CyBio stock option programme
as a personnel expenditure due to the excellent share price growth last year.
The result: CyBio AG must report a total expenditure of approx. 13 million Euro
for the years 2000 – 2002, of which about 6 million Euro are attributed to
the previous fiscal year alone.
The actual earnings of the Jena biotechnology firm looks different, however.
While the consolidated sales of 21 million Euro exceeds that of 1999
(11.6 million Euro) by 80 percent, the consolidated earnings before taxes
and interest (EBIT) of approx. 4.5 million Euro is many times higher
than that of the previous year (1999: 0.45 million Euro), and also greatly
exceeds the previously announced forecasts.
Since the US GAAP balance statement of the stock option programme shows
no affects on liquidity or distributable profit, CyBio’s board of directors
already intends to propose a dividend of at least 0.25 Euro per share
at this year’s shareholders’ meeting.
The board of directors will announce further details about the fiscal year
at the financial statement press conference on 26th March 2001.
