The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Düsseldorf, May 22, 2001, Eurobike AG, Düsseldorf, expects sales and earnings to slump in the current fiscal year 2000/01 (ends September 30). Contrary to original plans, the Managing Board now forecasts Group sales in the amount of approx. DEM 515 million. As a result, the Group and Eurobike AG have to expect a loss before interest and taxes (EBIT) in the lower single-digit million mark range. Furthermore, extraordinary charges are to be expected which may lead to a deficit of up to DEM 80 million at the Group and up to DEM 65 million at Eurobike AG. These amounts include the extraordinary value adjustments of DEM 24 million announced on May 8, 2001. Advised by consultants Droege & Comp. AG, Düsseldorf, the Managing Board has therefore developed a restructuring concept which will be implemented immediately. In view of the measures initiated, the Managing Board expects both the Group and Eurobike AG to return to a clearly positive result already in the next fiscal year 2001/02.
