EUROMED AG erreicht EBIT-Break-Even

EUROMED AG reaches EBIT-break-even
Fürth, 27 March 2000 – In the 1999 fiscal year EUROMED AG Health
Systems reached operative break-even, recording consolidated earnings
before interest and tax of DM 0.1 million. This represents an increase
of DM 1.6 million over the previous year. The company ended the fiscal
year 1999 with a consolidated negative income of DM -2.2 million, an
improvement of DM 1.2 million over the previous year. The figures for
1999 include extraordinary one-off expenses of DM 2.7 million related
to the IPO. Sales rose in 1999 by 14% to reach DM 32.8 million.
EUROMED AG is slicking to its medium-term profit forecasts. However, as
a consequence of the fact that the corporate strategy is focusing on
expanding the healthcare side of the business, and in view of the
system multiplication, profits are now not expected to take off until
next year. The Board has thus resolved to revise the planning
accordingly.
During the current fiscal year, the operation of the clinic is likely
to be temporarily impaired by the building works for the new building
in the course of the second construction phase. The building programme
was designed to further optimise processes and service quality during
the time until the completion of the EUROMED model clinic and EURO
Health Park in Fürth at the end of 2000. For the current fiscal year,
the Board expects to see sales increase by a further approx. 10 %, with
earnings before interest and tax set to reach DM 0.8 million.
