GEDYS schließt Partnerverträge in Großbritannien
Meilenstein bei Internationalisierung
Braunschweig, 16. März 2000 – Die GEDYS Internet Products AG setzt ihre
Strategie zur Internationalisierung konsequent um. Nach der Eröffnung der
Vertriebsniederlassung in London, wurden jetzt mit sieben Lotus Business
Partnern in Großbritannien Partnerverträge geschlossen. Sie werden die gesamte
GEDYS Produktpalette für das e-business vertreiben. “Wir haben mit unseren
Partnern den Eintritt in einen sehr bedeutenden Markt geschafft,” sagte Ralf
Geishauser, Sprecher des Vorstands der GEDYS AG. “Mit weiteren Unternehmen
stehen wir kurz vor dem Abschluss.”
In Großbritannien gibt es 5 Millionen Groupware-User. Im deutschen Groupware-
Markt zählt GEDYS zu den Top 3 des Marktsegments. “In Europa wollen wir die
gleiche Position erreichen”, so Geishauser.
Der neue Geschäftsführer der britischen Vertriebsniederlassung in London ist
Chris Webster. Er verfügt über langjährige Erfahrungen im IT-Bereich, die
er bei namhaften britischen Unternehmen und zuletzt bei einem großen europaweit
arbeitenden Lotus Business Partner erworben hat. Webster ist einer der
führenden Köpfe in der Förderung von e-business-Initiativen in den Bereichen
Business-to-Business (B2B) und Business-to-Consumer (B2C).
Die Europazentrale, die in Amsterdam ihren Sitz hat, befindet sich derzeit im
Aufbau. Von dort aus werden seit Januar 2000 die nicht deutschsprachigen GEDYS
Vertriebsniederlassungen im europäischen Markt betreut. Bis Ende des Jahres
werden dort insgesamt 15 Mitarbeiter beschäftigt sein. Für den europaweiten
Ausbau des e-product-Geschäfts konnte John Madden verpflichtet werden.
Die GEDYS AG setzt die Zuflüsse von rund 35 Millionen Mark aus dem Börsengang
im September 1999 konsequent für die Internationalisierung ihres Geschäfts ein.
“Frankreich, Italien und die Nordic-Staaten sind die nächsten Ziele auf der
GEDYS-Landkarte”, sagt Geishauser. “Zur Jahresmitte 2001 sollen in allen
westeuropäischen Ländern e-products von GEDYS direkt vor Ort vertrieben werden.”
Die GEDYS Internet Products AG ist einer der führenden Hersteller von
e-products in Deutschland. Im Groupware-Bereich bietet GEDYS standardisierte
Produktlösungen, mit denen, – unabhängig von Branche und Größe – komplexe
Unternehmensprozesse vereinfacht werden können. Sie ermöglichen die schnelle
und einfache Kommunikation und Koordination, auch über die Unternehmensgrenzen
hinweg. Darüber hinaus ist GEDYS ein Competence Center für spezielle e-business

Bereich. Der New Media-Bereich entwickelt Produkte für Interactive Selling
Service unter Einbindung des Internets und anderer moderner Kommunikations-
medien. Mit beiden Geschäftsfeldern agiert GEDYS vorrangig im Business-to-
Business (B2B). 20.000 Anwendungen sind bereits bei Kunden installiert.
Vermarktet werden die e-products europaweit über derzeit 83 autorisierte Partner
in sieben Ländern. Strategische Partnerschaften bestehen mit Lotus, IBM und
PSION. GEDYS wurde 1989 in Braunschweig gegründet und hat Tochtergesellschaften
und Vertriebsstellen in Hennef, Paderborn, Dortmund, Mannheim, München, Wien,
Amsterdam, Paris und London. Derzeit werden 128 Mitarbeiter beschäftigt. Die
GEDYS AG ist seit dem 27. September 1999 am Neuen Markt in Frankfurt notiert.

GEDYS concludes partner agreements in UK
Milestone in internationalization process
Braunschweig, 16th March 2000 – GEDYS Internet Products AG consistently
implements their internationalization strategy. Having opened a sales office in
London, now partner agreements were concluded with seven Lotus Business Partners
in the UK. They will sell the entire GEDYS product range for e-business.
“Together with our partners we were able to enter a very significant market”,
said Ralf Geishauer, spokesperson of the GEDYS AG board. “We are on the verge
of concluding agreements with further companies.”
There are 5 million groupware users in the UK. In Germany GEDYS ranks amongst
the top 3 companies in the groupware market. “We plan to reach the same position
in Europe”, says Geishauer.
Chris Webster is the new managing director of the British sales office. He has
vast experience in the IT area, having worked many years for reputed British
companies and last for a big Lotus Business Partner, who is working Europe-wide.
Webster is one of the leading personalities in the promotion of e-business
initiatives, both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C).
At the moment, European headquarters with seat in Amsterdam is being
established. Since January 2000 the headquarters has been responsible for the
non-German speaking GEDYS sales offices in the European markets. By the end of
the year 15 staff will be working there. It was possible to engage John Madden
for the Europe-wide expansion of the e-product business.
GEDYS AG consequently uses the influx of roughly 35 million DM from going public
in September 1999 for the internationalization of their business. “France,
Italy and the Nordic countries are our next destinations on the GEDYS map”,
according to Geishauser. “By mid-2001 GEDYS e-products are to be available
directly in all Western European countries.”
GEDYS Internet Products AG is one of the leading manufacturers of e-products in
Germany. In the area of groupware GEDYS offers standardized product solutions
that can be used to simplify complex corporate processes regardless of industry
and size. With the help of these products, a fast and simple communication and
coordination even beyond the boundaries of your own company will be possible.
In addition, GEDYS is a Competence Center for specialized e-business solution
for finance and insurance industry, health sector and local governments. The New
Media division develops products for Interactive Selling Service, integrating
