mb Software: Kooperationsvertrag mit CPU unterzeichnet
– Lizenzeinnahmen von 4,5 Mio. DM im ersten Vertragsjahr
– Positive Erwartungen für das laufende Geschäftsjahr
Hameln, den 1. Dezember 2000 – Die mb Software AG hat die Weichen für die
Erschließung des asiatischen Marktes gestellt. Der Softwarehersteller unter-
zeichnete in Kanazawa einen Kooperationsvertrag mit dem japanischen IT-Unter-
nehmen CPU Inc. Damit wurde die im Sommer getroffene Absichtserklärung
(Letter of Intent) konsequent umgesetzt.
Der Vertrag sieht vor, dass CPU die 3D-Visualisierungssoftware ArCon in den
asiatischen Markt einführen wird. Darüber hinaus hat sich CPU eine Option ein-
räumen lassen, auch weitere Technologien der mb-Gruppe wie o2c und or. bit
zu plazieren. Der Kooperationsvertrag läuft über fünf Jahre. Allein im ersten
Jahr plant CPU einen Umsatz mit der mb-Softwarelösung in Höhe von umgerechnet
20 Mio. DM. Für mb ergeben sich daraus im ersten Vertragsjahr Lizenzeinnahmen
von etwa 4,5 Mio. DM.
CPU zählt zu den führenden Entwicklern von Planungs- und Architektursoftware
auf dem japanischen CAD-Markt (Computer Aided Design). Der Konzern ist mit 10
Niederlassungen in Japan sowie mit Geschäftsstellen in Thailand und China
vertreten.
Konzern-Planzahlen für 2000/2001 vorgelegt
Durch das CPU-Geschäft sieht sich der mb-Vorstand in seinen positiven Erwar-
tungen für das laufende Geschäftsjahr 2000/2001 (bis 31. März) bestätigt.
Geplant ist ein Jahresumsatz von rund 78 Mio. DM. Im Vorjahr wurden rund
90 Mio. DM umgesetzt, darin enthalten war ein Umsatzanteil von 24 Mio. DM
der RIB Software AG. Nach dem Verkauf der RIB-Mehrheitsbeteiligung werden die
Umsätze von der RIB im laufenden Geschäftsjahr nicht mehr konsolidiert.
Das Jahresergebnis vor Zinsen und Steuern (EBIT) wird sich den Planungen
zufolge auf 10,7 Mio. DM verbessern, nachdem im Vorjahr noch ein Verlust von
9,9 Mio. DM angefallen war. Der Vorstand rechnet mit einem Periodenüberschuss
von 3,9 Mio. DM (Vorjahr: -7,6 Mio. DM) und einem Gewinn je Aktie nach DVFA
von 12 Cent (Vorjahr: -30 Cent). Das Ergebnis vor Zinsen. Steuern und Ab-
schreibungen (EBITDA) wird sich den Erwartungen zufolge im laufenden Geschäfts-
jahr auf 29,7 Mio. DM nahezu verdreifachen (Vorjahr 10,5 Mio. DM).

mb Software signs Cooperation Agreement with CPU

Hamlin, December 1. 2000 – mb Software AG has set the course for developing the
marketplaces of Asia. The software company signed a cooperation agreement with
the Japanese IT-enterprise CPU Inc. in Kanazawa. The LOI (Letter of Intent)
signed this summer, was thus firmly implemented.
The agreement provides for the introduction of the 3D-visualization software
ArCon to the markets in Asia by CPU. Furthermore, CPU was granted an option to
launch other technologies of the mb-group, namely o2c and or.bit. The
cooperation agreement is termed for 5 years. During the first year alone, CPU
is planning a turnover for the mb software solution of 20 million DM (converted
currency). This will result in license takings of approximately 4.5 million DM
for mb during the first year of the contracted term.
CPU ranges among the leading developers of software for planning and archi-
tecture in the Japanese CAD market (Computer Aided Design). The company has 10
branch offices in Japan and subsidiaries in Thailand and China.
Consolidated forecast presented for 2000/2001
The mb Management Board sees its positive outlook for the current business year
(ending March 31) confirmed by the CPU-deal. An annual turnover of approxi-
mately 78 million DM is forecast. The previous year saw a turnover of approxi-
mately 90 million DM, comprising a partial turnover of 24 million DM by RIB
Software AG. After the sale of the controlling interest in RIB, the RIB turn-
over will no longer be consolidated in the current business year.
According to the forecast, the annual results before interest and taxes (EBIT)
will be increased to 10.7 million DM after a loss of 9.9 million DM suffered
the previous year. The Management Board is expecting a surplus of 3.9 million
DM for the period (previous year -7.6 million DM) and 12 Cent earnings per
share according to DVFA (previous year: -30 Cent). The results before interest,
taxes and writeoffs (EBITDA) are expected to increase nearly three-fold to
29.7 million DM for the current business year (previous year: 10.5 million DM).
