erfolgte in allen Bereichen. Etwa 33 Prozent der Produkte
konnten im europäischen Ausland abgesetzt werden. Etwa 13
Umschlag unterliegen.
folgt geplant: 5,8 / 8,7 / 12,3 / 16,2 Mio. DM. Der
Jahresüberschuß ist mit DM 3,17 Mio. geplant. Dies entspricht
einem Ergebnis pro Aktie von DM 0,83

english version:
Turnover 101 percent above the comparable quarter in the
previous year!
Outlook for the current financial year of SWING!
Entert@inment Media AG
The quarterly results are in plan:
SWING! AG achieved sales of DM 5.83m in the first quarter of
the current financial year from 1 July to 30 September 2000.
Pre-tax income came to TDM 528. The corresponding net profit
for the year amounts to TDM 292, producing a profit per share
of DM 0.08.
Dynamic growth continued in the expired quarter to 30 September
2000, with turnover standing 101 percent above the comparable
quarter in the previous year. Increases were recorded in all
areas. Some 33 percent of products were sold in Europe
excluding Germany, while about 13 percent of sales were
recorded through licence transactions with the USA.
The EBITDA was increased from DM 1.03m to DM 1.77m compared
with the same quarter in the previous year. The proportion made
up of depreciations on intangible assets, comprising payments
on game developments and licensed characters, rose from DM
0.55m to DM 1.41m, above-proportionately in relation to the
increase in sales over the same quarter in the previous year.
This also shows that the depreciations on intangible assets are
consistently effected in line with sales and are subject to a
constant turnover.
Despite the ongoing weakness of the Euro, which is hurting the
company since most game developments and investments in
licensed characters are effected in US dollars, combined with
high advance performances for the projected strong turnover
growth, the company was able to increase its after-tax
operating results by 34 percent from TDM 218 to TDM 292 over
the same quarter in the previous year. The company has thus
continued to record figures well into the black since its
formation and to achieve a considerable return.
The company currently employs a workforce of 30 full-time and 8
part-time staff, excluding freelance workers.
Thanks to investments in world-famous licensed characters,
products and advance payments on product developments,
intangible fixed assets rose 1.029 percent from DM 1,156,351 to
DM 13,055,695 compared with the same period in the previous
year, reflecting the considerable investment made by SWING!
Entert@inment Media AG in the program sector which will bear
fruit in the future sales and earnings of the company.
In addition, SWING! Entert@inment Media AG is currently in the
due diligence phase of acquiring a majority holding in an
American publisher, something which should be completed by the
start of December 2000. This future stake would then be
consolidated and would handle all publishing tasks in the USA
and South America.
The Board of Directors of the company is continuing to base its
plans on the original sales forecasts for the current financial
year, which anticipate total sales of DM 43.0m. The quarterly
sales for the current financial year are budgeted as follows:
DM 5.8 / 8.7 / 12.3 / 16.2 million. The annual net profit is
expected to be DM 3.17m, corresponding to net earnings per
share of DM 0.83.
