The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– 2001 was a difficult business year; return to bettertimes in 2002 Bietigheim-Bissingen, 10th April 2002 As expected, the business year 2001 proved to be a difficult year for HEINKEL AG, the world market leader in inverting filter centrifuges. Although the group turnover of 33.6 million EUR was almost unchanged compared to the previous year (33.9 million EUR), the overall performance of the company decreased to 32.2 million EUR (previous year: 36.3 million EUR) as a result of the weak order situation in general and the economic slump in the USA in particular. Since the costs could not be reduced at the same rate, the result was a deficit of 1.6 million EUR for the last period (previous year: surplus of 1.8 million EUR). The board of directors and the supervisory board of HEINKEL AG will therefore recommend at the annual general meeting on 4th June 2002 that no dividend be paid for the business year 2001. In spite of continuing lower expectations, HEINKEL AG is confident that the current business year 2002 will end on a positive note. The board of directors will comment in detail on the initiated cost reduction measures as well as on the prospects of the latest technical developments at the press conference on the statement of assets and liabilities for business year 2001 on 19th April 2002.
