P&T TECHNOLOGY AG: SEASONAL WEAKNESS OF THE FIRST QUARTER 2002 –
STRONG GROWTH ANTICIPATED FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR
P&T Technology AG confirms planning for 2002
Hamburg, May 22, 2002. Following the weak first quarter, typical of the
industry, P&T Technology AG, Hamburg, confirms the planning for the whole of
2002. The wind farm specialist listed on the Neuer Markt is planning to achieve
consolidated revenues of EUR 400 million and EBIT of EUR 23 million in the
current financial year. In a weak first quarter, typical of the industry, bad
weather with high precipitation volumes and strong wind also delayed
construction. This caused consolidated revenues in the first quarter 2002 to
climb only moderately from EUR 18.9 million to EUR 20.9 million (+10.6%)
compared to the same period of the previous year. As the low seasonal revenues
are opposed by the cost structures of previous quarters with strong revenues
the company for the first time posts a negative operating income (EBIT)
EUR -1.3 million. The consolidated net income was EUR -0.5 million after
EUR 0.6 million in the same quarter of the previous year, the DVFA result was
EUR -0.046 per share. Our planning, however, will overcompensate for seasonal
weakness of revenues in the course of the year. The strong project pipeline,
the high degree of realisation in the second half of the year and the marketing
security gained with the sales model of the European Energy Consult Holding AG,
generate security with regard to planning.
