AlumiFuel Power International, Inc. / Key word(s): Miscellaneous FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ALUMIFUEL INTERNATIONAL POISED TO ADDRESS MULTI-BILLION EURO MARKETS WITH ITS UNIQUE HYDROGEN GENERATION TECHNOLOGY
Technology ready for global commercialization after years of intensive PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, 27 September 2011. – AlumiFuel Power International, Inc. ('AlumiFuel International') (Deutsche Börse Frankfurt Stock Exchange '9AP'), announced today that its international marketing program is ready to leverage the unique technology and world class path-to-market partners for its licensed technology. AlumiFuel International's AlumiFuel powder-based technology generates hydrogen gas and heat for multiple applications aimed at large global markets: – Weather Balloon Inflation The Company is marketing its PBIS of hydrogen lift gas generators to fill and launch weather balloons. The global market for lift gas fuel is pegged at EUR105-EUR150 million and growing, with more than 1,000,000 weather balloons and special purpose balloons launched annually for meteorological, telecom relay, and special military applications; – Portable back-up Power The Company has designed hydrogen generators to drive fuel cells for a wide variety of portable and back-up electrical power applications. The overall global market for man portable power (generator and battery replacement) is nearly EUR5.5 billion annually, including EUR3.3 billion for man-portable systems (100W-500W) and EUR3 billion for mobile systems (25W-100W); – Hydrogen Generators for Unmanned Underwater Vehicles The Company is developing heat and hydrogen generators to feed turbines and fuel cells for undersea vehicle power plants. The global UUV market is expected to reach EUR8.4 billion over the next decade, encompassing commercial, naval and other national security applications. This number includes EUR840 million for the power systems, with EUR280-EUR350 million related to the fuel modules; and – Small Hydrogen Generators for Science Educators The Company has developed its small H24U hydrogen generator that it will market to secondary schools and universities for science experiments. The size of this global market is conservatively estimated to be EUR175 million to meet an unfilled need and become a science lab fixture for secondary schools and universities worldwide. The Company is offering a family of innovative Portable Balloon Inflation System (PBIS) products including the PBIS-1000, PBIS-2000 and PBIS-lite for filling balloons from 30g to 200g. These products enable on the spot generation of hydrogen without any external energy or toxic chemicals and is easier to use and less expensive than current lift gas solutions including increasingly scarce and expensive helium. These portable launching units are far more mobile and cost effective than other on-site hydrogen generation systems and the Company believes they can become the field standard and lift gas product of choice for meteorological and NATO military customers. AlumiFuel International's path-to-market partner for portable power applications is Ingenium Technologies, Inc. of Rockford, Illinois founded by senior engineers from the Hamilton Sunstrand division of United Technologies. This partnership encompasses power generation and energy storage for Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUVs) and submersibles, as well as man-portable, back-up and Auxiliary Power Unit applications. The bulk of this market is in the U.S. and Europe, encompassing military applications powering battlefield electronics and munitions, first responder/emergency preparedness applications powering radios and other electronic and medical devices for homeland security & disaster relief, and commercial applications such as shoulder-mounted video cameras. AlumiFuel hydrogen and heat power sources provide 5-10X the energy density (runtime) of lithium batteries. The Company and Ingenium are considering a growing number of opportunities involving undersea power plant applications (5kW-35kW) with military customers, major defense contractors, and deepwater services industry players worldwide. The Company is in the process of developing a product package that will include the H24U mini-generator and a lesson plan for five lab experiments to demonstrate the generation and use of hydrogen to secondary school and university students. AlumiFuel International's President, Mr. David Cade, said, 'The global marketing opportunities for AlumiFuel International, beginning in Europe, are boundless. We are excited about finding European partners who can help bring API's unique hydrogen generation technology and products to the international marketplace. '
