Zurich, 8th August 2006. AMITELO AG, which is based in Zurich, is
publishing a comprehensive report on the first half of the year today. The
most important figures were announced in July. The total sales generated in
the previous year (€ 22.5 million) were already exceeded in the first half
of 2006. The balance sheet total amounted to more than € 44 million and was
therefore twice as high as in 2005. Sales totalled € 23.32 million for the
first half of the year alone. The forecast was exceeded by 15%. Earnings
before interest and tax (EBIT) reached € 2.7 million and were also 13%
higher than planned. This represents an increase of 350% over the first
half of 2005.
These positive results for turnover and EBIT are an indicator therefore
that the company will keep going in the same direction as the forecast is
planned for the whole year 2006. The high growth is attributable not only
to the improvement in organic growth but also to the systematic
continuation of the international expansion strategy with the acquisition
of further companies. Panacall Ltd. (UK) was acquired in May of this year;
its assets and the business operations with the products and services, such
as value-added services and wholesale, minute trading with other telephone
companies, were integrated in the AMITELO Group. The second acquisition was
completed in June this year, when Telsoft Ltd. (based in London) was taken
over. This subsidiary is responsible for management of the AMITELO Group’s
projects in Africa and for the implementation of some government
commissions.
This positive trend is continuing in the second half of the year. The
foundations were laid in the first half of the year: additional sales are,
for example, being generated outside the core business via the co-operation
agreements between the wholly-owned subsidiary Sunline Communications SL
and two well-known Spanish financial service providers thanks to the
latter’s finance products that are being marketed in the call shops too.
AMITELO Wireless SL, another wholly-owned subsidiary, has established its
IP network on the Costa Del Sol and will be exploiting the large customer
potential there steadily and rapidly. The wholly-owned subsidiary AMITELO
Afrique Sarl has opened its first 3rd-generation IP-based call shop in
Africa and more of them will be following. AMITELO considers that the
African market has tremendous growth potential.
AMITELO is continuing to optimise utilisation of the network capacity,
which is being expanded all the time as the number of customers increases.
Interconnection contracts for minute exchange and peering in the IP sector
have been signed with major state-owned telephone companies. All the areas
of the AMITELO Group’s business operations will be continuing to record
increasing sales growth. The detailed report on the first half of the year
by the AMITELO Group has been published in the IR section of the website:
