The Company explores for Gold, Diamonds, Iron Ore and Copper over a total area of 1050 Km². The areas of exploration are well known for their rich and rewarding potential. The extension of our nine concessions in Guinea further bolsters our now considerable portfolio. The permits include five gold concessions, two diamond concessions, one for Copper and one for Iron-Ore: Gold The five gold concessions include firstly the Kouroussa concession where there are a large number of artisanal miners working in the area for about 5km along a narrow north-south trending ridge of Birimian volcanics that form the prominent Niandian Range that hosts the Kiniero mine. There are then two adjacent concession areas to each other on the southern bank of the Tinkisso river. The area is known to carry alluvial gold, which has been extensively worked by artisanal miners, and there are known quartz-vein occurrences to the north of the concession area. The area is underlain by the Birimian Siguiri formation which contains small mafic-ultramafic and granitic intrusions along a strong regional scale north north-eastern trending shear zone. In other parts of the Siguiri Basin this zone has proved to be a favourable geological setting for gold mineralisation. The Kankan gold concession is highly promising; the area is underlain by the Birimian Siguiri formation which contains small mafic-ultramafic and granitic intrusions along a strong regional scale north north-eastern trending shear zone. In other parts of the Siguiri Basin this zone has proved to be a favourable geological setting for gold mineralisation. Finally, the Macenta concession in the Diani Valley, about 45km south-east of the town of Macenta. Diamonds The Kindia Diamond concession in the area historically known as an artisanal diamond mining area known to host paleo-placer deposits, and the Kissidougou Diamond Permit which lies on the western fringe of the 'diamond triangle' about 70km west of the Aredor diamond mine. Copper The Archean terrane underlying the concession area includes some intrusions of ultramafic rocks known to be associated with base metals. Iron-Ore AMQ's iron-ore concession is SW of the town of Kissidougou in the south-east of the country. A number of major iron-ore exploration programmes are underway in this area which is underlain by Archean granite-gneiss.
