DGAP-News: BF.direkt AG / Key word(s): Real Estate/Financing Annual congress on financing for the real estate industry Stuttgart/Regensburg, 04/04/2016. BF.direkt AG and IREBS International Real Estate Business School are scheduled jointly to host the annual congress “Financing for the Real Estate Industry” in Frankfurt/Main on 20 April 2016 for the very first time. The objective of this event is to analyse and discuss the essential current trends relating to real estate financing within the scope of a recurring event. The idea for such an event format originated directly at the interface between theory and practice in dialogue between BF.direkt and Prof. Dr Steffen Sebastian from the IREBS. Prof. Dr Steffen Sebastian holds the chair for real estate financing at the IREBS, University of Regensburg, is co-publisher of the monthly bulletin BF.Marktradar as well as scientific consultant to BF.Quartalsbarometer, a publication released by BF.direkt in cooperation with bulwiengesa. “Our aim is to realise holistic financing solutions for the real estate sector under the motto of “one-stop shopping”. In interaction with our scientific consultant Prof. Dr Steffen Sebastian, the idea was conceived to initiate an annual congress on the subject of financing for the German real estate sector to bring players from many and various segments of the financing market for commercial properties together to exchange expert opinions with representatives of the real estate industry. The congress is also intended to serve as a discussion forum for the latest developments in the field of financing transactions,” says Francesco Fedele, CEO of BF.direkt AG, in explaining the objectives of the congress. “An event of this kind with a truly holistic approach to commercial property financing is unprecedented in Germany to date,” adds Prof. Dr Steffen Sebastian from the IREBS. “This is where we are breaking new ground in order to create a forum that illustrates market developments as comprehensively and impartially as possible, both from a theoretical perspective and in practical terms. As in the case of the German Debt Project of the IREBS, we plan to intensify the level of transparency on the market for commercial property financing in Germany and are delighted to have found a partner in BF.direkt who shares our scientifically motivated targets thanks to its practical experience in this field.” On subjects such as risks in the financial system, types of financing, market participants and regulations, it was possible to sign up high-calibre speakers for the congress, experts to shed light on financing topics both from an overarching perspective as well as from the viewpoint of the real estate and financial sectors (both banks and non-banks).
