AURELIUS Group joins the UN- Principles for Responsible Investment network (UN PRI) As a signatory to the UN PRI, AURELIUS is committed to complying with the six principles of investing responsibly and contributing to an economically efficient and globally sustainable financial system that focuses on long-term value creation while taking the interests of all stakeholders into account. As of now, AURELIUS will be subject to an annual assessment regarding its compliance with the UN PRI principles. AURELIUS firmly believes that the company’s long-term success depends on responsible corporate governance. It is therefore essential that sustainability criteria (also known as ESG: Environmental, Social, Governance) are embedded in the business model of AURELIUS and are represented directly by the Executive Directors. AURELIUS has identified relevant focal points and launched a project to implement these measures in Q4 2021. The signing of the UN PRI is thus in line with the Group’s mission to further strengthen its market position as a pan-European asset manager with shareholder and stakeholder values at its core. The PRI is the world’s leading proponent of responsible investment and was founded as an independent organisation in 2005 with the support of the United Nations. It promotes responsible, sustainable investing based on the belief that ESG issues can affect the performance of investment portfolios and, for investors to fulfil their fiduciary duty, should be factored into investment decisions along with traditional financial performance criteria. Through its work, the PRI helps policymakers around the world understanding the impact of ESG factors on investments and creating appropriate frameworks as well as supporting measures to improve their implementation. Today, the PRI’s international network includes more than 4,000 organisations that are committed to and support these principles. Dirk Markus, Founding Partner of AURELIUS says: “At AURELIUS, we attach great priority to the fundamentals of sustainability and transparency – both within AURELIUS Group and in our portfolio companies. And the signing of the PRI further underlines this commitment. It is therefore our great pleasure to join the vast network of UN PRI signatories; a network of responsible companies that are committed to the principles of sustainability across all aspects of their business.”
