Resignation of director and sale of Sunbury franchise
Bartercard announces the resignation of David Wright as a director, who is
leaving in order to own and manage the Sunbury franchise. Molcob Limited,
of which David is a Director and shareholder, has paid Bartercard £360,000
for this franchise, which is currently company owned and is the oldest
brokerage office in the UK, with the office the UK headquarters prior to
the move to Richmond. He will also be acquiring the Surrey Hants franchise
from the current franchisee.
A search is already underway for a new non-executive director and an
announcement will be made in due course.
Wayne Sharpe, Chairman, commented:
“David knows the Bartercard business extremely well, having previously been
chief executive of the group. I believe he will be extremely successful as
the owner of the Sunbury and Surrey Hants franchises and we look forward
to working closely with him.”
David Wright added:
“I felt it appropriate to resign from Bartercard’s board in order to devote
my energies full time to ensuring the success of the Sunbury and Surrey
Hants franchises. However, I fully intend to remain a substantial
shareholder in Bartercard.”
