Big Rock Resources Inc. / Key word(s): Development of Sales 22.08.2011 / 19:15 --------------------------------------------------------------------- VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA CANADA -- (IMMEDIATE RELEASE) -- AUGUST 22, 2011 Big Rock Resources Inc. (1BR.F, ISIN CA0894851066, WKN A1JJYB, website - http://www.bigrockresources.com) is pleased to announce that Visible Gold Observed in Concentrate at Lucky Thirteen Project. Mr. Ken Van Boeyen, President of Big Rock Resources Inc. reports that free gold has been observed in all concentrate samples recovered to date at the Lucky Thirteen Project in the on-going bulk sampling program. The gold is in fine, flat flake form and is being recovered with the heavy black mineral sands which make up the majority of the recovered concentrate. Ken Van Boeyen, President of Big Rock Resources says 'We are elated to report that this visible Gold confirms that the recovery system is working as designed. This is especially exciting as the price of Gold is now reaching record highs above $1,800 per ounce.' Big Rock Resources Inc., with its Joint Venture partner, Siga Resources Inc., commenced the processing of gravels containing gold as part of the bulk sampling pre-production program on the Lucky Thirteen Precious Metals Project. Testing began on August 9, 2011. Platinum group metals have been reported to exist in the gravels and will also be recovered in the process. This processing of the gravels to recover the gold and platinum metals is permitted by the Government of British Columbia, Canada thru the Department of Natural Resources. Existing permits allow for the processing of 380,000 cubic meters or 420,000 cubic yards annually. The processing of these gravels can be continuous after the initial program is completed. The deposit has been estimated to contain 12 million cubic yards of gravels which could allow for a production life of approximately 28 years at planned rates The recovery process produces a black mineral sand concentrate, consisting primarily of magnetite, iron compounds and other minerals which are heavier then the gravels and therefore are easily separated from the gravel host resulting in the recovery of approximately 15 pounds of concentrate per cubic yard processed. Gold and platinum group metals are recovered in two forms, free visible metal and as inclusions or compounds locked inside the black sand particles. The black sand concentrates will be further tested by several procedures to develop a consistent and efficient method to recover the maximum amounts of both free and combined metals. The recovery of only free metal has been the focus of most placer operations to date. Recovery of precious metals in compounds or inclusions has generally not been attempted in past operations at Lucky Thirteen. Technology for recovery of metals in inclusions and combined complex mineralogy was generally used only on non placer projects. Big Rock sees the application of further processing of concentrates as an opportunity to maximize the profitability of Lucky Thirteen.
