On June 14th, 2007 in Vienna, Austria an implementation, developing and
training phase which lasted for 6 years found its successful end.  The
Austrian ministry of the Interior and the DAKO GmbH transfered the
DAKO-system for capturing and analysis of data from analogue and digital
tachographs to routine working phase. Chief Supervisor Tomio and Mr. Achim
Becker (managing director of the DAKO) delivered the final equipment to the
nine police force commands of Austria.

 The Co-operation between the ministry of the Interior and the DAKO GmbH
was allready founded in 2001. The project manager Chief Supervisor Tomio
has been searching for an mobile road check and control system for analogue
tachographs, because the Austrian police authorities have substantially
more authority in the prosecution of infringements agains social
regulations than for example german police authorities have. The choice
fell on the DAKO GmbH, because the bavarian police allready used systems of
DAKO successfully.

New regulations from the European Union made it necessary, that the digital
Tachograph had to be launched allover Europe. The combination of data from
analogue and digital tachographs as well as the analysis of the different
AETR and EU regulations in one system took enormously efforts. The test
phase in Austria already started one year before the official launch of
digital tachographs in Germany. That was only possible, because the
Austrian government transfered European laws in a shorter time period than
all other european nations and the officials were very competently trained.

In the beginning of the of the official tenders  DAKO had not faced the
extremely high level of tasks and issues of the police road check routine.
The processing of the demands could be mastered by close co-operation
between the Austrian ministry of the Interior and the DAKO. The enourmous
efforts on both the official Austrian side and at DAKO´s took a sufficient
effect. DAKO created a very stable and durable analysis system for the
authorities and transport business needs. The DAKO - analysis programs are
receiving lots of appriciation from governmental authoryties for instance
from Germany, Spain, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Italy etc. The
implementation of country-specific laws were and are possible in a short
time period and with smallest effort.

 With the successful routine transfer to the nine police force commands of
Austria, the close co-operation between the Austrian ministry of the
Interior and the DAKO GmbH continues in future on the proven very high
level. A high level competence team of 18 police officers (2 from each
police force command) and a leading surveyor are responsible for the DAKO
system. This guarantees that new requirements can be met after a very short
reaction time and service needs will be answered faster. DAKO takes care
for its most important partner Austria with highest priority. This
particularly before the background that parts of Switzerland are using the
DAKO - products as well and the experiences with the austrian competence
team will help to meet specific need of this customer as well.

Chief Supervisor Tomio is heading for new wide spread tasks but he will
stay available as an advisor for DAKO in future.
Now in the maintanace phase 192 systems are in process in Austria. 66 of
them are fullrange analysis systems and 50 further systems have to be
implemented in addition in 2007.
This experience is appreceated in more than half of Germanies federal
countries, which are also using the DAKO equipment in there police forces
successfully.
Both sides, Austrian Ministry of the Interior and DAKO confirm, that
co-operation will be continued on the very high level, which was reached
while the launch of digital tacho analysation equipment in Austrian Police
forces in the former 6 years.
