ENTRADE Energiesysteme AG / Key word(s): Alliance/Sustainability Entrade AG extends develoPPP project in cooperation with Serbian partners Wood-fired power for Serbia: information event in Kraljevo on 14 November – widespread interest on the part of Serbian politicians Düsseldorf/Kraljevo. – At an information event held at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Kraljevo on 14 November 2013 ENTRADE Energiesysteme AG and Spanner Re2 GmbH defined, in cooperation with Serbian scientists and representatives of the worlds of business and politics, the contents and schedule for the future stages of the ‘Wood-fired power for Serbia’ project. The entire process chain from the supply of the wood via plant operation to the consumption of the energy was presented. The aim of the project is to train specialists in cooperation with the University of Kragujevac in Serbia, who will in future plan, set up and operate wood energy plants in accordance with the location. At the beginning of 2014 Spanner Re2 will be installing a pilot plant as a demonstration and training facility at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty. In addition, practice-based training documentation is to be developed to enable fast and efficient training of students. ‘We are delighted at the widespread interest in the project. Numerous representatives of the city of Kraljevo, the regional energy supplier and the Forestry Faculty took part in the event’, states Entrade CEO Julien Uhlig. ‘Because we display the entire process chain from the very beginning and integrate important decision-makers from the fields of politics and the energy industry, we have found that progress on the project is fast. We also expect a high level of sales potential because by the year 2020 as much as 27 per cent of energy in Serbia is to be generated from renewable energy.’ ENTRADE Energiesysteme AG and Spanner Re² GmbH won the ‘developpp.de’ ideas competition, which is held regularly by the ‘Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)’ in cooperation with the ‘German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH’. Since 01 September 2013 GIZ has been supporting the project for the ‘Transfer of wood gasification technology and establishing the relevant know-how at the University of Kragujevac’. The project is planned for a period of three years and involves overall investment of approx. 460,000 EUR.
