Exiqon releases new online search tool for gene expression studies

Exiqon A/S (NASDAQ OMX: EXQ), a leading supplier of high-value gene expression
analysis products, today announced the launch of a new version of miRSearch, an
established online search tool for rapid retrieval of detailed information
about microRNA as well as related mRNA and lncRNA. 

miRSearch 3.0 allows the users to save their search results in a report and
download the information for later use in their research planning and review.
'This is a great advantage to researchers, who can now collate all the
information related to their RNA of interest into a single report which can
then be used to plan their next experiments' said Senior Vice President Sales &
Marketing, Dr. Henrik M. Pfundheller, continuing: 'Having all the data
available in a single file also makes it possible to seek, find and verify the
biological roles of the RNAs of interest'. 

An updated interface makes miRSearch even simpler and easier to navigate, and
allows detailed information about various RNA species and the biological links
between them to be rapidly displayed. For instance, searching for a microRNA
brings up validated and predicted target genes, diseases where this microRNA
has been found to be involved, tissues or samples where the microRNA is
expressed as well as information about the miRBase history and possible
co-transcribed microRNAs. 

All the information is supported by direct links to scientific references, but
is available to the user at a fraction of the time it would take to gather
through traditional literature and database searches. miRSearch 3.0 makes it
possible to add all the information to a report which can be saved for future
reference. The report even contains hyperlinks to relevant products for each of
the RNA species described to aid planning of relevant experiments. Previously
compiled reports are available through personal log in. 

New data concerning RNA interactions are continuously being added as Exiqon
applies advanced text mining to stay abreast with the latest literature.
