(formerly known as RLP Energy, Inc.), a privately-held company based in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Grünergy Technologies Canada Inc. (formerly known as RLP Energy Canada Inc.), a privately-held company based in Ottawa, Canada. The all-stock transaction valued at approximately £250,000 was completed on May 25, 2010. As a result of the acquisition, the companies became wholly owned subsidiaries of Grünergy Technologies PLC, as providers of a patented mercury emission control system known as Total Mercury Control. The Total Mercury Control solution, which utilizes an integrated sorbent enhancement additive system together with proprietary sorbent technologies, was initially developed by scientists and engineers at the University of North Dakota Energy & Environmental Research Center and licensed exclusively to Grünergy Technologies USA.
