Megastar Development Corp.:MEGASTAR ADVANCES RALLEAU COPPER AND ZINC PROJECT – LAND HOLDING INCREASED BY 500%
Megastar Development Corp. / Miscellaneous Release of a Corporate News, transmitted by DGAP - a company of EquityStory AG. The issuer / publisher is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- February 12th, 2008 - Megastar Development Corporation (TSX-V: MDV; Frankfurt: M5Q) reports that the company has successfully completed a trenching and channel sampling program on the highly prospective 100% owned Ralleau copper zinc project located just south east of the producing Langlois mine in the Lebel-sur-Quevillon camp, Quebec. David Bikerman, President of Megastar states: 'the Ralleau property hosts rock chemistry, alteration, and structure typically associated with many Abitibi VMS deposits. The company is focused on discovery of another economic deposit in the area, and is taking appropriate steps toward its goal. Last year, the company increased its land holdings by more than 500% along the favorable trend after earlier drilling intersected anomalous copper zinc mineralization and strongly altered felsic volcanic rock. The company has considerably increased its land holdings to cover this underexplored, yet highly favorable, volcanic belt. Our view of the Ralleau area has significantly evolved from an interesting target area to a more regional area play. A consulting geologist familiar with the region was hired to oversee exploration activities last October. The 2007 winter program consisted of surface trench sampling of delineated outcrops. I am impressed with the potential of this large property and intend to expend company resources on a well-considered plan of both regional (aerial) and local (surface) exploration in the near future.' The company now controls 5400 hectares hosting the highly prospective geological host. Breakwater Resources Ltd., (TSX: BWR) owner of the Langlois mine, recently consolidated a significant land position in the region to secure additional feed for its mill. The most important work to date in the targeted area was done in the Sheilann Lake and north of Wilson Lake area. Significant values of gold, silver, copper, and zinc were previously reported including 5.42% Cu, 56g/t Ag over 2m. Lithogeochemistry results from rhyolites taken in the central portion of the Novellet Member are within the fields of fertile volcanics types the like of Kamiskotia, Noranda and Misema. The probability of finding VMS mineralization is believed to be high. Geologist Gilles Tremblay, P.Geo. who has extensive experience on the regional trend, supervised the latest work at Ralleau. The program was designed to follow up on a VMS target situated approximately 6km east of Megastar’s earlier discovery. A 15 kilometer snow road was opened and approximately one-meter of overburden was removed at site #1. Forty seven (47) channel samples were taken over approximately 50 meters, on a north-south strike, in outcrop. Five kilometers of snow road was also opened to access site #2 which is located about three kilometers west of Site #1. Two shallow trenches encountered water that prohibited sampling and as a consequence the site was rehabilitated and abandoned. All locations were surveyed for mapping and the resulting forty seven samples have now been submitted for assay. The company will proceed shortly with an airborne survey to be conducted on strike over the entire area including the earlier discovery and the most recent sampling. ABOUT MEGASTAR DEVELOPMENT CORP.
