Quash Products PLC : QUASH ANNOUNCES SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISING, BOARD APPOINTMENT AND TRADING UPDATE
Quash Products PLC / Key word(s): Miscellaneous 12.09.2011 / 10:00 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Quash Products PLC, is pleased to announce a full trading update including placing of new shares, appointment of director and trading update in terms of new products, and planned distribution into new jurisdictions. Placing of New Shares Quash is delighted to announce that it has provisionally raised £276,500. The funds raised are to be invested in Quash's new product development (NPD) programme as it seeks to launch a series of new alcohol-free products including hand soaps, face & hand wipes, household cleaning products and institutional hand cleaning products. These new alcohol-free products are to be launched alongside the existing offering of hand sanitiser products currently sold in Waitrose, Sainsburys, WH Smith and a further 2000 retails outlets in 8 different countries. The funds will also allow the aggressive expansion as set out below in Asia, The United States, The Middle East and further distribution in Europe. Appointment of New Director Combined with the new investment, Quash welcomes John Garner to the Board of Directors. John is a founder and director of Alethia Capital, a private equity investment company which to date has been one of the largest investors in Quash. John has a number of relationships in the FMCG sector, including distribution and marketing networks in India, America, the Middle East and Asia which will be of significant value to the business. Commenting on his appointment Mr Garner said: 'I have followed the progress of Quash since its inception in 2008. Current management have worked hard to create a consumer friendly brand which is the largest distributed natural hand sanitiser in the United Kingdom. The time has now come to aggressively expand the brand and product range internationally. The New Product Development (NPD) department have created some excellent products to compliment the existing range and I am excited about these coming to market. In a world which is becoming more aware of the germs, disease and bacteria within everyday life, as we saw with the EHEC outbreaks in Germany earlier in the summer, and with the flu pandemic as we approach the autumn, Quash is an excellent product which is clinically proven to eradicate 99.9999% of germs whilst at the same time nourishing the skin of the user. I envisage aggressive growth in the Middle East regions, as well as distribution in the United States and a series of countries in Asia where Quash's unique combination of efficacy and no-alcohol content make an attractive offering to the islamic communities, as well as distribution into areas of closed travel, for example the airline carriers. Business Update and Strategy The business continues to grow with its current product offering but believes that now is the time to launch new alcohol-free products globally as the world becomes more aware of germs and disease amongst our communities. The alcohol-free element of Quash products will be maintained throughout the range and is one of the key principals on which Quash was founded. In terms of other products in the marketplace the company has seen countless cases recently proving that the persistent use of alcohol-based hand sanitisers and other products harms hands leading to dermatitis and other skin conditions. People who work as doctors, nurses, dentists, and care workers are consistently required to use alcohol based hand sanitisers to stop the spread of potential disease within their respective workplaces. This is a market place of size for Quash to try and establish itself within, due to it's unique patented formula of being able to kill 99.9999% of germs with no-alcohol. Quash are aiming to launch the following products and others, over the next 12 months: * Hand Wipes * Face Wipes * Liquid Soap * Foaming Hand Sanitiser * Business-to-Business Foaming Hand Sanitiser * Travel Packs * Children's Packs. The company is now in a position for aggressive expansion in: * United States of America * The Middle East * Asia * Europe Another area of growth which the company is developing is the online offering and awareness throughout the internet community. A new, more interactive website is currently under development and its launch imminent is imminent. This will be combined with a full interactive social media campaign utilising mass-market tools including Facebook and Twitter to promote the brand, the products and the benefits that they bring to the consumers. The company are currently looking to strengthen the board of directors with some strategic appointments bringing further expertise, and opening new networks for the business. This will also be combined with the launch of brand committee which will allow the company to draw on the experience of a number of brand experts. Share Consolidation and Fulfillment of new Listing Rules In terms of the new listing rules which come into effect by the end of September by the Deutsche Bourse, Quash will have fulfilled these before the deadline. To date, almost EUR1.0m of cash has been invested into the business allowing it to build the platform to now go forward, releasing its new products and increase distribution. The company has also appointed Baaderbank as its Xetra Frankfurt Specialist and we look forward to working with their Capital Markets team over the coming 12 months.
