The stock exchange-listed investment holding company Themis Equity Partners
GmbH & Co. KGaA has closed the first quarter of the 2008 fiscal year with a
loss of EUR 8.7 million due to the current state of the capital markets,
reflecting the decrease in net asset value announced in April. The results
bear testimony to weak capital markets which particularly impacted the
value of investments in listed companies. Irrespective of these results,
Themis’ accounting ratios continue to remain sound. With a value of 
EUR 55.3 million as at the reporting date, shareholders’ equity clearly
exceeded the market capitalisation of EUR 36 million. There were no
outstanding bank loans or overdrafts at this time. Short term liquid assets
and cash equivalents amounted to EUR 4.3 million.

Despite difficult conditions for the private equity market in general
during the first quarter of 2008 numerous transactions were registered
within the funds of the Themis portfolio. Some of these resulted from
favourable entry positions for attractive new investments as a result of
the prevailing market conditions.

Themis’ net asset value (NAV) of EUR 1.05 as at 30 April, 2008 was only
marginally below the level of the previous month (EUR 1.08 per share). By
comparison, the stock exchange index recorded a discount level of 33% on
the same day.
