UEC supports a Russian-Chinese training program of future engine-building experts
UEC supports a Russian-Chinese training program of future engine-building experts Beijing, September 21, 2017 Moscow Aviation Institute and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) to jointly implement a master program of training future engine-building experts. This program is supported by United Engine Corporation (a part of Rostec Corporation) and has been developed with consideration of UEC’s requirements. Airspace School, the joint program of MAI and SJTU, provides master training in the areas of Structural Design with Composite Materials, Product Lifecycle Management, and Jet Engine Design. The project is aimed at creating a pool of employees for implementation of Russian-Chinese projects; establishing a new environment for more effective carrying out joint Russian-Chinese programs and boosting cooperation between the Russian Federation and the PRC; as well as synchronizing qualification levels of Chinese and Russian experts, etc. A group of 20 people (ten Russians and ten Chinese) is being formed for each area. The first year of study takes place in Shanghai, the second one – in MAI (Russia), and the last six months – again in Shanghai (finalization and defense of master’s thesis in STU). As a result, the graduates receive two master diplomas from both SJTU and MAI. Thanks to UEC’s support, the group of ten Russian students has already been studying in Shanghai.
