equinet Bank AG strengthens research team in industrials and technology areas
Frankfurt, February 25, 2015. equinet Bank AG expands highly ranked equity research team to include new analyst hires Thomas Rau and André Jäkel. André Jäkel (38), responsible for technology and medical technology at equinet, will immediately start equity research coverage of stocks such as Siemens, Osram and Zumtobel. Mr. Jäkel draws on more than 17 years of experience in the technology and medical technology areas, and along the entire investment process chain. Previous positions have included acting as buy-side analyst at BHF-BANK AG. As sell-side analyst at ABN AMRO in Frankfurt and London, André Jäkel covered large-cap capital goods and technology companies. Jäkel is familiar with the corporate side from his experience as Senior IR Manager at Logitech International in Fremont (California), and as co-founder and CFO of eZono AG, a pioneer in ultrasound-supported regional anaesthesia. As the second new recruit to its research team, equinet Bank introduces Thomas Rau (42), who is to immediately head up industrials coverage with stocks such as GEA, Krones and DMG Mori Seiki. After graduating, Mr. Rau successfully built up engineering and steel research at BHF-Bank in Frankfurt from 2001 on. Subsequently, he played a key role in the strategic realignment of equity research and the establishment of capital goods research at Commerzbank, before joining MM Warburg as Sector Head for Capital Goods and Aerospace & Defence. Thomas Rau brings with him an extensive network of German and international contacts to institutional investors, financial investors and family offices. Ingbert Faust, Head of Research and Executive Board Member at equinet Bank, regards the bank’s position as being underpinned by these new hires: “With André Jäkel and Thomas Rau, we have recruited two individuals who really know their sectors. They are excellent additions to our team both professionally and personally. We are positioning our equity research on an even broader base as a result of their market knowledge and specialist expertise.” These two new additions underscore equinet Bank’s position as one of the leading equity research houses in the small- and mid-cap segments. Its team of analysts currently cover around 120 companies. Back in October 2014, equinet expanded its research teams to include analysts Christoph Bast and Robert-Jan van der Horst. Lutz Weiler, CEO of equinet Bank AG, expresses his pleasure at these positive developments: “With these high-profile new hires, I regard equinet’s research team as optimally equipped to continue to “go the extra mile” – now and in the future – and to offer high-quality equity research.” About equinet Bank AG
