Meerbusch/Düsseldorf, 18 April 2001 ABIT AG, leading supplier of credit and debt
collection management software solutions for banks in Germany, has entered into
a comprehensive licence agreement with HypoVereinsbank AG, Munich. The subject
matter of the agreement is the international implementation of a web-based
software for debt collection management valued at several million Euro.
HypoVereinsbank will receive a web-based software solution for the handling of
liquidations and as support in the handling of financial rescue plans. Besides
delivery of the software, the contract also includes further development
services of ABIT AG.This is the first web-based application of ABIT AG for debt
collection management in banks. Since the product is offering multi-user
support, all companies of the HypoVereinsbank group can use the application in a
uniform way at any time and anywhere. The result is considerable cost advan-
tages for the company, i.a. due to the fact that versions and data can
consistently be up-dated. Major subject matters of the agreement will be trans-
lated into action in the course of this year already. ABIT is experienced in
developing web-based software solutions. The development of ABIT Kredit.net, a
product for credit management in banks, could successfully be completed in
October 2000. In addition, the US-subsidiary GWA Information Systems developed
the first ASP solution for debt collection management in the US market far back
in 1995 already. With the conclusion of the contract, ABIT has succeeded in
entering the large bank market with web-based software solutions for debt
collection management thus strengthening its market leadership in credit and
debt collection management solutions for banks in Germany even further. The
company has an excellent position above all in the savings bank sector with a
market share of approx. 70 per cent.
