Surge in sales and profits in first quarter of 2001
Offenbach, May (, 2001 – DIS Deutscher Industrie Service AG, specialist in
Professional personnel Services in Germany and Austria, expanded its business
considerably during the first three months of the 2001 financial year,
exceeding the expectations of the Company itself.
Despite a slow-down in the economy as a whole, sales at DIS AG continued to
gain momentum in the first quarter of 2001. Consolidated sales rose by 27.3% to
DM 129.5 million. Market growth in the same period is likely to have been
approximately 15%.
The considerable investments made last year began to pay off even in the 1st
quarter of 2001. EBITA rose by 51.2% to DM 11.8 million. Pre-tax earnings
increased by 56.4% to DM 10.8 million. DIS AG is one of the main beneficiaries
of the tax reform. As a result, net income for the quarter doubled to DM 6.2
million, producing earnings per share before goodwill amortisation of EUR 0.28
(previous year: EUR0.15). Cash flow increased more than tripled to DM 18.4
million.
After the extremely pleasing development of business in the first quarter of
2001, the Board of Directors of DIS AG is maintaining its forecast for the
whole of 2001 indicating a growth in sales of 20.5% to DM 538 million. Pre-tax
earnings are likely to increase by 43% to DM 48 million, thereby showing a
significantly sharper growth than sales.
