Lobster Network Storage AG announces preliminary half year
results in line with forecast and expects strong Q3
Berlin, 26.01.2001 +++ Lobster Network Storage AG today
released preliminary half year results: net sales for the six
month period ended 31.12.2000 amounted to DMm 11.5 and net loss
to DMm minus 2.9 excluding special one-time charges of TDM 300,
largely attributable to write-offs of minority holdings.
Including the latter net loss amounted to DMm minus 3.2.
Forecast net sales were DMm 11.2 and net-loss DMm minus 3.0.
EBITDA at DMm minus 2.0 also came in straight on plan. Compared
to previous year figures EBITDA improved by 44% (last year: DMm
minus 3.5) and net result by 60% (last year: DMm minus 7.6
excl. extraordinary gains worth DMm 2.6).
In the 2nd quarter of the fiscal year 2000/01 the company saw
continued strong demand for its enterprise storage related
products and services but many of the projects acquired did not
result in immediate customer orders during the same quarter.
However, already at the beginning of the new calendar year this
weakness disappeared, leading to net sales in the company’s
project business in the month of January alone likely to exceed
those of the entire 2nd quarter of the current business year.
These encouraging interim results reinforce the company’s
positive view on the progress made to date and its ability to
also meet plan in the 3rd quarter, for which it forecasts net
sales of DMm 8.4. and EBITDA at break-even.
The company will publish its official half year report on
28.02.2001.
