mb Software übernimmt Mehrheit an My Channel Multimedia
My Channel entwickelt Sicherheits-Software für
DM alleine in
Schüler in allen EU-Ländern.

mb Software acquires controlling interest In My Channel Multimedia
New Technology with great Potential for Child Safety in the Internet
Hamlin/Berlin June 6. 2000 – mb Software AG is taking over a 75% majority
interest in the Berlin-based Multimedia Enterprise My Channel Multimedia GmbH.
The purchase is financed with the company’s own shares issued out of authorized
capital against assets in kind. My Channel develops security software for the
Internet, offers mobile videostream solutions, creates Television- and Internet-
TV-Productinos and also maintains a professional editorial “Internet” office for
German as well as international TV stations. With the majority interest
mb Software AG, the IT-speciatist for software solutions for the business and
consumer segments, consistently continues to demonstrate its commitment to the
Internet and Multimedia and is thereby entering new growth markets.
The innovative Security Software is one of the future-oriented products by My
Channel, offering protection to children in the internet against unsuitable
material while allowing access to contents approved for the age group. With this
software solution a market is to be opened up which, according to My Channel’s
estimation, holds a potential of DM 100 million in Germany alone. An initiative
of the European Community to provide every school in the member countries with
internet access by the end of 2001 is especially important to this market, as
40.000 schools in Germany and approximately 80 million students in the
EU-countries are involved.
