Pre-tax profits in the first 9 months 10.4 mill DM / Turnover 54.8 mill DM
Hamlin, 28th February 2001. The upward trend in profits at mb Software, listed
on the Neuer Markt, continued in the third quarter of the current financial year
2000 / 2001. From 1st October until the 31st December 2000 the software
manufacturer earned a pre-tax group profit of 2.8 mill DM, compared with a loss
of 1.6 mill DM in the corresponding period in the previous year. The profit
before interest and taxes (EBIT) went up to 1.2 mill DM (previous year: -1.3
mill DM). After tax the company made a profit of 0.9 mill DM, compared with a
deficit of 1.8 mill DM in the same quarter in the previous year. Turnover fell
according to a delay in the delivery of the ArCon +6.0 program version and the
or.bit products to 17.1 mill DM after a comparable turnover of 19.9 mill DM in
the third quarter of the previous year. This meant that the figure for the
previous year was adjusted by the sum of 15.6 mill DM attributable to RIB
Software AG, which is in the meantime no longer included in the consolidated
accounts. Turnover of the quarter of the previous year with RIB was stated to
35.5 mill DM.
In the first nine months of the financial year, the pre-tax results improved to
10.4 mill DM compared with a loss of 3.4 mill DM in the same period in the
previous year. The EBIT was 9.7 mill DM (previous year: -3.9 mill DM). After tax
the mb Software group earned a nine-month surplus of 3.1 mill DM, compared with
a deficit of 2.6 mill DM in the same period in the previous year. Turnover of
nine months in a comparable way went up to 48.5 mill DM (without RIB) to 54.8
mill DM. The profits per share calculated in accordance with the DVFA / SG
method went up in the first nine months to 0.18 Euro (previous year – 0.16
Euro).
The mb management board assumes mb software to perform the prognosis of turnover
and profit for the current financial year. The massive investments made in the
research and development sector have begun to pay for themselves since the
beginning of February 2001 with the delivery of the new or.bit products and
the new version for ArCon Visual Architecture. The boost in turnover to be
expected as a result should result in the fourth quarter making an above-average
contribution to annual turnover.
