Prodacta AG financial year 1999
By increasing its turnover by 50% from 27.6 to 41.4 mill. DM,
Prodacta has once again achieved its highest turnover level
since it started trading in 1992. This figure does not include
the 3.2 million DM turnover generated during the first nine
months by the prs Group, which was acquired in the fourth
quarter. This meant that the company succeeded in increasing
its gross result in the finished financial year from 8.8
million DM to 13.5 million DM. This represents an increase of
53%, which is disproportionately high in relation to the
turnover.
Outlay for administration and management (8.8 million DM) and
increased expenditure in the field of marketing and sales (9.8
million DM) as well as research and development (3.1 million
DM), which were planned on the basis of the originally
envisaged turnover level of 53.7 million DM, contributed
towards a reduction of the operating result (EBIT) from 1.2
million DM to minus 8.2 million DM before depreciation due to
company acquisitions. The loss of revenue resulting primarily
from the problems surrounding the Y2K situation exerted a
particularly negative influence on the result.
Taking into account depreciation from company acquisitions of
1.1 million DM and the financial result of 0.1 million DM, as
well as a tax burden of 0.4 million DM, a deficit for the year
of 9.6 million DM results. With a total number of issued shares
amounting to 4.881 million as of December 31, 1999, this
results in a loss of per share of 1.95 DM.
For the current financial year, due to investment in
preparation for growth and plans to focus on key areas of
competence, the company envisages a turnover of 80.0 million DM
with an operating result (EBIT) before depreciation from
company acquisitions of 4.0 million DM. During subsequent
years, turnover is set to increase to 128.0 million DM in 2001
/ 204.0 million DM in 2002, and the operating result (EBIT)
before depreciation from company acquisitions to increase to
8.9 million DM in 2001 and 20.0 million DM in 2002.
More detailed information will be issued at the balance sheet
press conference on March 29, 2000 in the IHK building in
Frankfurt (Börsenplatz 4) from 10 a.m. onwards, and also in the
Annual Statement, which will be published on March 31, 2000.
