Stinnes AG: Hohe zweistellige Zuwachsraten im 1. Halbjahr
2000
Vorjahr liegende Ergebnisse erzielt.
Der Zwischenbericht vom 1. Januar bis 30. Juni 2000 in
Kürze:
Der Außenumsatz des Stinnes-Konzerns lag um +8,5 Prozent
über dem des entsprechenden Vorjahreszeitraums. Bereinigt
um die verkauften Baustoffaktivitäten hat der Außenumsatz
um +12,4 Prozent auf 5.374,4 Mio. Euro zugenommen.
Stinnes AG: High Double-Digit Growth Rates in First Half
of 2000
In the first six months of 2000 – and also in the second
quarter of 2000 – Stinnes AG considerably surpassed its
performance in the previous year.
The highlights of the interim report for the period from
January 1 to June 30, 2000 in a nutshell:
The Stinnes Group’s external sales increased by 8.5
percent relative to the same period in the previous year.
When adjusted for the divested building materials
activities, the Group’s sales increased by 12.4 percent to
Euro 5,374.4 million. This growth was primarily generated
by the strong performance of the Chemicals Division and
the Air and Sea Freight Unit.
Relative to the previous year, the Group’s consolidated
internal operating profit increased even more rapidly than
external sales: it soared by 41.6 percent. This growth was
primarily supported by the European Land Transportation
Unit and the Chemicals Division.
Consolidated earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT)
also increased substantially, rising by 26.1 percent to
Euro 142.9 million.
Furthermore, consolidated earnings before income taxes
also grew substantially (up 32.9 percent) relative to the
same period in the previous year. This growth was due to
the positive non-operating income resulting in the second
quarter from the book gain on the sale of the Building
Materials Division.
Relative to the same period in the previous year, the
consolidated net income increased by 20.4 percent to Euro
80.2 million. As of the end of the first half of the year
2000, earnings per share amounted to as much as Euro 1.06,
compared with Euro 1.29 at the end of 1999.
