Swing! vergibt erneut europaweiten Vertriebsvertrag an Virgin
Interactive
Entertainment (Europe) Limited vergeben.
(Bloomberg / Reuters : TTUS NM / TITP.LN).
geplant.

Kaarst, 10 January 2001
Swing! again awards Europe-wide distribution contract to Virgin
Interactive
Sales guarantee of DM 20 million
Swing! anticipates organic growth in turnover and profits of
more than 140 percent in this financial year
Swing! Entert@inment Media AG has awarded the exclusive
European distribution rights to 12 current products, which are
planned to be released in the first half of 2001, to Virgin
Interactive Entertainment (Europe) Limited. Such games are
dedicated for PC-CD-ROM, Nintendo Game Boy Color, Sony
Playstation 1 and 2, and Sega Dreamcast. In return, Swing! will
receive a sales guarantee amounting to DM 20 million. This
level of sales represents the minimum figure that will be paid
for the delivery of a certain number of games. If Virgin orders
products above and beyond that scope, additional sales will be
generated.
The distribution agreement covers 12 products for different
games systems such as PC DC-ROM, Nintendo Game Boy Color, Sony
PlayStation 1 and 2 as well as Sega Dreamcast in up to seven
languages. Publication of the games is pencilled in for
February to June 2001.
Swing! is also planning to publish further products by June
2001, including “Ballermann – the Game”, as well as the massive
multiplayer online role-playing game “Shadowbane”. Both games
are already experiencing huge demand, and a decision on the
allocation of distribution rights will be made by March 2001.
Virgin Interactive Entertainment (Europe) Limited covers the
major European markets directly. The distribution company is a
majority holding of TITUS Interactive, which is listed on the
Nouveau Marche in Paris (Bloomberg / Reuters : TTUS NM /
TITP.LN).
The company expects to record total turnover of DM 43 million
in the current 2000/2001 financial year to 30.06.2001, with
profits after tax amounting to DM 3.17 million. This
corresponds to a growth in earnings of more than 140 percent on
the previous year. Of turnover, DM 14.5 million was achieved in
the 1st half of the current financial year and DM 28.5 million
in the 2nd half. This huge proportion of turnover recorded at
the end of the financial year, against the trend in the
industry, is a result of the investment cycle of Swing! AG. The
resources obtained with the IPO on 02.02.2000 were invested in
product development. This investment will have an even greater
impact on sales and earnings from 2001 on.
The turnover recorded to date and the new sales guarantee of DM
20 million mean that total secured sales, allied to the orders
received, already stand at just under DM 35 million at the
present time.
The next two financial years are expected to see further
organic growth in turnover and profits of more than 50 percent.
