T-Online International AG hereby announces a preliminary indication of the
corporate group’s results for the 2000 financial year.
T-Online International AG emphasizes that these results are only initial
results on the basis of current information. Deviations may arise between
these figures and the audited figures, which are planned to be published on
March 29, 2001.
T-Online International AG once again recorded revenue growth in the fourth
quarter of 2000. With revenues of EUR 254.6 million in the fourth quarter of
2000, the group posted a 34.3 percent increase over the third quarter of 2000.
This results in group revenues of EUR 797.2 million for the full year 2000,
an increase of 86.1 percent compared with 1999. The newly acquired subsidiaries
contributed to this trend with revenues of EUR 55.2 million. Excluding changes
to the consolidated group, revenues increased by 73.2 percent.
T-Online posted an increase in access business of 26 percent in the fourth
quarter of 2000 compared to the third quarter of 2000. This growth is
predominantly attributable to strong subscriber growth, among others in
flat-rate tariffs, and an increased usage time in the Eco tariff. Revenues
from advertising and e-commerce increased sixfold compared with the previous
year to EUR 110 million. Advertising and e-commerce revenues increased by
approx 75 percent in the fourth quarter of 2000 compared with the third quarter,
even after one-time revenues of EUR 10 million in the third quarter.
Overall, therefore, Deutsche Telekom AG’s proportion in the non-access sector
was held below 50 percent for the full year 2000.
