The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– EBOOKERS APPOINTS NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER AND CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER London, England – 5 June, 2002 ebookers plc, Europe’s leading online travel agency (LSE: EBR, Nasdaq: EBKR; Neuer Markt, eb6) today announces a major strengthening of its management team with the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer and Board member, and Chief Information Officer. Nigel Addison Smith has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and a member of the company’s Board of Directors. He has eight years of senior financial management experience within the travel industry, most recently with First Choice Holidays plc, where he was Finance Director of Air 2000 and Viking Aviation, the company’s charter airline division. Previously he was Group Financial Controller of First Choice. Following the completion of the financial year, Navneet Bali, previous CFO, is leaving ebookers plc by mutual consent, to pursue other business interests. Philip Dale has joined ebookers as Chief Information Officer, having most recently been employed by Priceline.com where he served as Chief Technology Officer in Europe and Vice President Development in the United States. Mr Dale has more than 15 years senior experience within the Information Technology and travel industries. During his tenure in Connecticut at Priceline he quadrupled the travel ticketing and processing capacity by scaling the processing infrastructure and increasing the range of travel products available. This enabled Priceline to rapidly expand to its current customer volumes.
