Half years turnover increased by more than 60 per cent over the previous year,
EBITDA by more than 20 per cent
The e-tourism and media group feratel media technologies AG, listed at the
specialist market at the Vienna Stock Exchange, increased its business
performance of the first half-year (May 1 to October 31) by more than 60
percent from 4,72 mio Euro to 7,58 mio Euro over the previous year.
Consolidated company turnover increased from 4,33 mio Euro to about 7 mio
Euro. These growth rates clearly show that we have reached our ambitious goal
according to plan, feratel-CEO Markus Schröcksnadel is happy.
Main part of the proceeds from the telecom sector go on the quarters three and
four of the financial year (November to April). Fix costs, however, are rather
evenly distributed throughout the year. EBITDA, therefore is negative as
expected, but has been improved, compared to the previous year, from
minus 0,40 mio Euro to minus 0,32 mio Euro.
Rapid acquisition policy, within a year 7 companies were taken over, resulted
in a considerable increase of depreciation on goodwill, a non cash effective
position, from 0,14 mio Euro to 0,83 mio Euro. Together with other
depreciations caused by the acquisitions, the operative result (EBIT) decreased
from minus 0,91 mio Euro of the first half-year 2000/2001 to minus 1,97 mio
Euro. The results of the ordinary business activity (EBT) before depreciation
amounted to minus 1,12 mio Euro following minus 0,72 mio Euro during the same
period of the previous year. EBT after depreciation on goodwill amounted to
minus 1,95 mio Euro following 0,86 mio Euro.
Altogether Schröcksnadel expects a positive development for the next months.
The third and fourth quarter will show a considerable increase in turnover for
the telecommunications sector due to seasonal factors. For the total year an
increase in turnover over the previous year in two-digit numbers as well as a
positive EBITDA can be expected.
