With regard to the 2006 annual financial statements, Mosaic Software Aktiengesellschaft expects to generate the best HGB result since its IPO in July 1999. In the context of the 2006 annual financial statements, the Company is forecasting sales of TEUR 5,862 (2005: TEUR 3,214), an improvement of 82 percent, and a HGB result of TEUR -154 after TEUR -3,668 in 2005. As a result, the Company missed shortly the profit zone. Rolf A. Mugrauer, CEO at Mosaic Software AG, feels the Company is on track to achieve this goal: 'Mosaic has a good starting position. At the beginning of the 2006 financial year, we repositioned ourselves and now have a successful standing as a service provider with a focus on EDI services (ASP provider) and process consultancy (SCM-ECR-EDI). A key factor contributing to the huge sales increase of 82 percent as against the previous year were the contracts with one large customer and intensified concentration on major customers and expanding small and medium-sized enterprises. In the spring of 2006, after an internal audit, we initiated measures in production and development in order to stop an erosion of value. This also entailed headcount adjustments. With new cooperations in 2006/2007, we are opening up access to attractive target groups in the SME sector and to sales markets in the industry. With the new high-performance system for B2B data transfer, Mosaic BXS (Mosaic Business Exchange System), we are attaching particular strategic importance to the consulting business and wish to develop this area further.' In the context of the consolidated financial statements for the 2006 financial year and in line with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Mosaic is forecasting consolidated sales of TEUR 4,150, an improvement of 39 percent against the previous year (2005: TEUR 2,975). This results in anticipated EBITDA of TEUR -1,290 after TEUR -2,621 in 2005. The expected EBIT will be TEUR -3,663 (2005: TEUR -4,716). As of 31 December 2006, Mosaic employed 58 people after 71 in the previous year. In 2007 further headcount adjustments are not excluded in order to achieve the planned profit zone. According to its provisional calculations, Mosaic will conclude the 2006 financial year with a consolidated result of TEUR -3,678(2005: -TEUR 4.704). The result will be influenced by extraordinary effects. These relate to expenses in connection with the early retirement of a member of the Management Board. As a result of streamlining the product portfolio in the context of repositioning, there were additional write-downs of TEUR 885 in the IAS financial statements. Rolf A. Mugrauer is certain: 'In the current financial year, we will continue to work on our cost structures and look for all possibilities for achieving savings. With the 2006 financial figures, we have demonstrated that our measures lead to better results.' On 30 March 2007, Mosaic Software AG will publish its complete and audited annual report with the final figures and a commentary on business development (www.mosaic-ag.com).
