Growth in sales from operations and a slightly positive result
Nuremberg, April 26, 2005: TA Triumph-Adler AG generated Group sales of EUR 86
million in the first quarter of fiscal year 2005. On a like-to-like basis,
sales increased over the same quarter of the previous year by around 5 %. This
means that TA Triumph-Adler grew faster than the market despite the continued
weak economy in Germany.
According to preliminary calculations, TA Triumph-Adler has increased its
operating result (EBIT), from EUR 1.4 million the year before to around EUR
2.5 million. This includes one-time charges relating to the restructuring of
the TA Triumph-Adler Group amounting to EUR 0.7 million (previous year: EUR
1.4 million). After net interest income of EUR -2.4 million and taxes the net
income for the quarter came in slightly positive. In the same period last year
the Group posted a net loss of EUR 1.6 million.
As of the March 31, 2005, reporting date, there were 1,517 staff employed,
following 1,653 as of December 31, 2004.
At the same time, TA Triumph-Adler announced a major contract with sales of
approximately EUR 1.6 million. In line with its announced strategic expansion
of its large account business, the company was contracted to equip a leading
chemicals and pharmaceutical group and with the same multifunctional office
communications systems throughout its major German facilities.
For fiscal year 2005 the company expects increasing organic sales in its core
business. The increase will not offset the absence of the spun-off PMT
division, meaning that Group sales will be less than the EUR 386 million
generated in 2004. Having completed the remodeling of the Group, TA Triumph-
Adler is now concentrating on further measures to boost the efficiency of the
operating business as a foundation for planned future growth. The company is
expecting net income in the lower single digit millions.
