Uniper SE: Uniper refines earnings outlook for financial year 2023 in light of strong results for the first nine months
Uniper expects extraordinary positive results for the first nine months of the financial year 2023. Based on preliminary and unaudited figures, Uniper expects for the first nine months of the financial year 2023 an Adjusted EBIT of EUR 5.484 billion (prior year: EUR -5.086 billion) and an Adjusted Net Income of EUR 3.741 billion (prior year: EUR -3.445 billion). Uniper continues to benefit to a large extent from hedging transactions in the areas of coal and gas fired power generation as well as in the gas midstream business. Uniper had previously reported that gas supply obligations resulting from the Russian gas curtailment have been successfully hedged forward. This positive one-time effect continued in the third quarter to support the results in the current financial year. Uniper continues to expect a uniquely strong earnings development for the full financial year 2023 and refines its financial outlook. Uniper now expects an Adjusted EBIT in a range of EUR 6 to 7 billion and an Adjusted Net Income in a range of EUR 4 to 5 billion for the full financial year 2023.
