The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Final results for Q3 / 2001 Winter continues to be profitable / New IT Security division developing well Olching near München, 15 November 2001. Winter AG, leading supplier of chipcards and systems, achieved a turnover of DM 60.9 million in the first nine months of fiscal 2001 (DM 68.5 million in prior year). EBIT to the end of 30 September 2001 totalled DM 3.6 million (DM 6.4 million in prior year). Net income totalled 2,2 Million DM, earnings per share DM 0.36 (referring to 6,100,000 shares), (DM 0.61 in prior year _ referring to 4,570,765 shares). The Card business unit made the greatest contribution to revenues in the first nine months of 2001, with a share of 54.6 % (56.7 % in prior year). Card Services amounted to 43.5 % of sales (43.1% in prior year). The IT Security division developed very well, showing DM 1.2 million in revenue in the nine months to 30 September 2001 (DM 132,000 in prior year). The lower turnover and earnings figures, compared with the prior year _ as previously announced with Winters provisional quarterly results to 30 September 2001 _ mainly resulted from the sustained downturn in the worldwide telecommunications. This development affected the mobile communications market for Winter, in particular. Reduced demand for mobile phone cards could only be partly offset by rising turnover and profits in other card areas: primarily multi-functional and bank cards. Winter AG continues to be profitable. For the full year 2001, Winter AG expects to achieve its adjusted targets for revenue of DM 84.2 million and EBIT of DM 6.2 million, as announced last week. For 2002 Winter AG expects an EBIT of approximately 6,7 Mio DM and turnover of around 95 Mio DM.
