The Neuer Markt listed leading supplier of systems and chip cards Winter AG, managed to earn a turnover of 10,5 Mio. Euro in the first quarter of the financial year 2002 and thus easily excelled the revenue of the previous quarter (10,2 Mio. EURO). The EBIT amounted to -499,000 EURO. In the first quarter of financial year of 2001 the EBIT was 450,000 EURO. The EBIT was burdened in the first quarter of 2002 in particular with high production costs in the bankcards sector. The company anticipates corresponding sales accounting and result contributions in the third and fourth quarter of this year. The result was influenced in addition by the enormous pressure on margins, which exists in the telecommunications card sector. In general however the order position at the beginning of the year is positive. There exists for the whole year in the banking card sector alone orders in volume of around 10 Mio.
