In 2006 ARQUANA bought 94% of the shares in the company. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Herewith ARQUANA is reacting to the continuing high costs which originated during the integration and reorganisation of the printer. With this step the new ARQUANA executive board and supervisory board are pursuing a consistent group consolidation and are at the same time reacting to the intensified market conditions of the European printing industry which is characterised by over-capacities particularly in the web offset segment, by rising energy prices and continuing high material costs. In September the ARQUANA executive board and supervisory board already decided on a new location concept and within this context commenced the sale of the French subsidiary, Evry Rotatives. ARQUANA is investing more than 35 million Euro in the remaining locations in order to secure and sustain the competitiveness in the medium term. The investment includes printing presses such as the 64-page rotary press at Johler Druck, a 32-page rotary press and a further 24-page printing press for ARQUANA Print Austria. The package is rounded off with investments in adhesive binders and gather stitchers at various locations. With the three remaining German locations (Johler Druck in Neumünster, J.P.Bachem in Cologne, and Nord Offset Druck in Ellerbek), as well as ARQUANA Print Austria in Innsbruck, ARQUANA remains in a position to offer an attractive product portfolio consisting of web offset printing, sheet-fed printing and subsequent processing, on the strongly fragmented printing market. As a full service provider situated at the logistic junctions in the German-speaking countries, ARQUANA offers innovative services ranging from the preliminary stage to distribution for agencies, publishing houses, tourism and mail order businesses. Spokesman of the ARQUANA executive board, Bodo F. Schmischke: 'With the consolidation within the ARQUANA group, we will manage to be operationally in the black in 2008 and will rank among the top suppliers on the German-speaking market in the future.' 18.10.2007 Financial News transmitted by DGAP ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Language: English Issuer: ARQUANA International Print & Media AG Gadelander Straße 77 24539 Neumünster Deutschland Phone: +49 (0) 4321 / 875 0 Fax: +49 (0) 4321 / 875 185 E-mail: info@arquana.com Internet: www.arquana.de ISIN: DE0006781008 WKN: 678100 Listed: Geregelter Markt in Frankfurt (Prime Standard); Freiverkehr in Berlin, München, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart End of News DGAP News-Service ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
