Dutch technology network recommends comforte cybersecurity solution for improved data privacy Wiesbaden, 18 December 2023 – The National Innovation Centre for Privacy Enhancing Technologies (NICPET), a network of companies, research institutions, NGOs and the public sector in the Netherlands, recommends in a recent market survey the use of cybersecurity software from comforte for better protection when exchanging and processing data. The data-centric cybersecurity solution from comforte is format-preserving and enables the consistent use and analysis of data in all the IT applications of a company. As a result of its complex tokenization, company data is worthless and unusable for third parties. Thanks to its plug & play principle, implementation can take place during ongoing operations. The comforte solution also impresses with its integration options in different system landscapes and cloud environments. The NICPET network focuses on advising government organisations and public institutions on privacy-enhancing technologies (PET). A team of researchers from the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) supports the work in terms of content. The TNO has the statutory mandate to make research also accessible to the general public at an international level. It is controlled by the government. NICPET is also financed by the Ministries of the Interior as well as Justice and Security. In the wake of digitalisation, public institutions and administrations in particular have made more and more tasks and data available online, thus expanding their exposure to cyber criminals. As a result, the number of cyberattacks has increased significantly in recent years. Not only local authorities are now affected, but also schools and hospitals. To prevent damage, public institutions must invest in their protection and train employees in preventing cybercrime. Employees must be able to exchange and use data in compliance with the law and prevent it from being leaked or getting into the hands of unauthorised third parties. PETs enable the secure exchange and analysis of data between different instances. With its educational work, NICPET makes an important contribution to improving data pricavy and ensures that government authorities, municipalities and public institutions have the expertise and technical requirements to use privacy protection technologies effectively.
