ENTRADE Energiesysteme AG / Key word(s): Miscellaneous Hannover Fair Energy 2014: base load capability an advantage – wood power plants supplement solar and wind energy ENTRADE Energiesysteme AG and agnion energy GmbH put demonstration plants in various output classes into operation Dahlem-Schmidtheim/Düsseldorf/Graz. – In Europe ENTRADE Energiesysteme AG and agnion energy GmbH are leading suppliers of plant for the generation of electricity and heating from solid biomass resources. At the Hannover fair they will be demonstrating how biomass in the form of wood can make an important contribution to the sustainable generation of energy. Thanks to their base load capability wood power plants represent an ideal supplement to wind and solar energy within the mix of regenerative energy supplies. They can also make a contribution towards the replacement of large-scale nuclear and fossil fuel power stations. World’s most efficient wood power plant comes on stream in Auer/Bolzano – electrical efficiency of 35% – 850 kW electrical output The corporate group has recently completed a major milestone with the commissioning of a large-scale wood power plant in Auer/South Tyrol. The main feature of the plant in Auer is its electrical efficiency rate of approximately 35%, which is 10% higher than comparable competitive facilities. The reason for this is that the plant works on the basis of a highly efficient, stationary fluidised-bed process. This produces high quality synthesis gas which drives the motor that generates power. The plant in Auer is a dual plant with two production lines working independently of each other. The plant generates an electric output of 850 kW and a thermal output of 1,200 kW. It is fuelled by waste wood from local forests for which previously there had been no economically viable use. The CO2-neutral energy it generates can supply 1,400 households with power and 400 households with heating. Turnkey plant in 40-foot containers – modularly extendable The second product group supplied by the company consists of wood power plants with an electrical output of between 30 and 45 kW. These are delivered in 40 foot containers and can supply between 60 and 90 households with electricity. The plants are designed in such a way that they can be connected to the electricity grid within 48 hours, and can be extended by additional modules as required. The turnkey construction enables a high level of flexibility with regard to potential locations for application. Two of these wood power plants have been in operation on the company’s site in Schmidtheim/Eifel since 2013, and serve as demonstration facilities for interested international parties. At the Hannover Energy Fair from 7 to 11 April 2014 engineers from ENTRADE Energiesysteme AG and agnion GmbH together with representatives of the AUTARK Institute will be available as contact persons at the communal stand of the state of North Rhine Westphalia – Stand E40 in Hall 27.
