The English-speaking module will be trailblazer by going first online, followed by the Polish and German module. A further string of linguistic modules are in the project planning phase. 'In the past the conventional way was for lotto players to go to the place to buy and hand in lottery coupons. Today, in the modern era of Web 2.0., sky is the limit, with the betting games knowing virtually no bounds. There is unanimous agreement among experts that online gaming and online betting have become firmly-established winners in the dynamic and rapidly growing internet market,' affirms Helmut Sürtenich, CEO of the betting operator Stratega-Ost Beteiligungs AG. The Düsseldorf-based Company presided over by Sürtenich is placing its bets full steam ahead on the thriving online betting market. To this end it has recently acquired 51 per cent of Santa Venera-based BetWitch Limited in Malta. 'By the time of the première we will have our betting offers made available world-wide', assures Claudine Cassar, Managing Director and Co-Founder of BetWitch Limited. Cassar is rated as a pioneer of the online industry in Malta and possesses a wealth of experience, having worked on projects in e-business in excess of ten years. The innovative and differentiating edge of BetWitch: A bet may be freely formulated by the user and passed on to other private individuals, who in turn have the option to counterbet. BetWitch is an online platform for bets with user-provided contents, a so-called Web 2.0 concept. The fun of the game has clear priority. Devised by an international team in Malta, both the software and the entire concept are legally protected across the globe. 'BetWitch offers its players betting fun without boundaries or risks. Our servers are safely housed in security rooms with the accompanying security software meeting state-of-the-art standards. The outcome of the betted event must be publicly documented by a third party. In our case this would involve agency news, television programmes or other media productions', states Cassar. The concept makers of BetWitch are convinced that competition among users will soon become self-regulating, that new room for further development will be created and that there is no danger of any potential misuse. 'Our betting players´ imaginations will know no bounds. Every player has the chance of determining the exact content, the betting sum as well as the precise betting time whilst waiting for the counterbet to be placed. To ascertain that every candidate partaking in the betting process plays with fairness and integrity, they will all be subject to a user rating system. Thus any dishonourable intentions or 'nasty surprises' will be nipped in the bud from the very outset. A positive by-effect of this will be the emergence of a sort of community with progressively strong bonds between the users, where players of like minds and common interests can forge an alliance,' says Claudine Cassar. 'Thanks to the exclusive online model of BetWitch the expense is relatively insignificant. As for the software it has been designed in such a way that the company is largely self-administered. This allows for the user fees per bet to be maintained at a reasonably low level', explains Cassar. The payment transactions are electronically based and are also subject to the highest security standards. Two further projects are scheduled for implementation in the near future. Private bets embracing objects like bikes or a webcam may be offered and concluded via BetBazaar. By contrast, private bets for just 1 Euro will be on offer at BabyBetWitch. The operators of BabyBetWitch also plan to conquer the mobile phone market. It is important to capitalize on the dynamic development of the internet domain whilst anticipating the latest trends and opportunities with a view to future implementation. nic.pr Claudia Klemp Kurfürstenstr. 40 53115 Bonn Tel: +49-228 – 620 43 82 Fax: +49-228 – 620 44 75 E-Mail: claudia.klemp@nic-pr.de DGAP 24.04.2007 ----------------------------------------------------------------------
